Title: "Topological order of cold hardcore bosonic atoms in the strong-interaction limit"

Abstract:

The realization of anyonic statistics in cold atomic systems is interesting but challenging. In the strongly interacting regime, topological properties of cold atoms are closely related to how they are correlated and their pattern of quantum fluctuation driven by hopping. In this talk, I will discuss a generic framework to study topological order of cold hardcore bosons in the strong-interaction limit. The main focus of this talk will be the simplest Z2 topological order. Finally, proposals to realize non-abelian anyonic statistics will be discussed.
