Description

Title: Long-Range Interactions Accelerate Fast State Transfer and Entanglement Renormalization

Speaker Name: Zachary Eldredge

Speaker Institution: JQI/QuICS

Abstract:
How fast can entanglement be spread between two distant points? It depends on the strength and range of the interaction. For short-range systems, the time to generate an entangled state between two points will be linear in the distance between them. For long-range interacting systems, we can usually do better, but how much better is an open question. In this talk, I will present a protocol that achieves an exponential speed-up in the rate of entanglement generation and discuss how this can be applied to a circuit described by a MERA (multiscale entanglement renormalization ansatz). I will also explain how this protocol might be realized in a real system.
