Curriculum Vitae

Ian Appelbaum received his Ph.D. in Physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with experimental thesis research focusing on optoelectronic extensions to scanning tunneling microscopy. Since building his own lab (originally in Electrical Engineering at another university), he has addressed numerous challenges in semiconductor device physics related to the flow of spin-polarized electron transport through electronic materials (especially silicon and germanium), using a combined experimental and theoretical (modeling and simulation) approach.
