Title: From Theory to Reality: Electrically Induced Antiferromagnetic Switching

Abstract: There is a growing demand for compact and faster memory. Since, antiferromagnetic materials are not effected by external magnetic fields and have fast spin dynamics, they would be the ideal materials to be used for memory given the requirements demanded by the market. However, the use of these materials in memory have remain elusive to researchers as there is no practical way to reorient the antiferromagnetic order. This seminar focuses on the series of papers that were able to predict & confirm antiferromagnetic switching induced by electrical current.
