Title: The Quadruple Bond Character of the Dicarbon Molecule
Abstract: The bonds formed by 8 valence electrons in the dicarbon molecule present an interesting dilemma. A simple Lewis dot structure allows a quadruple bond. Quantum electronic structure calculations will allow us to explore the role of quadruple bonds in this and other similar small molecules.
