Title: Coarse Graining Hadronic and Nuclear Interactions

Speaker: Enrique Ruiz Arriola, University of Granada

Abstract: Hadronic interactions are explained in terms of meson
exchange at long distances, but require subnuclear degrees of freedom in
many situations of interest. I discuss how with relatively simple
Wilsonian ideas and scale analysis a competitive framework can be
discussed to describe select and fit data above the inelastic threshold.
We analyze specifically the pipi , piN and NN interactions up to several
GeV's and its possible consequences in nuclear physics and short
distance correlations in nuclear matter.
