Title: Axion Kinetic Misalignment and (Lepto-)Axiogenesis
Abstract: We propose a paradigm where QCD axion’s rotation in the potential gives rise to the observed baryon asymmetry and the dark matter abundance. The rotation is initiated by explicit Peccei-Quinn symmetry breaking present in the early Universe. With the aid of the Standard Model sphaleron processes (and optionally the neutrino Majorana mass term), the Peccei-Quinn charge associated with the rotation is transferred to the baryon asymmetry. Axion dark matter is simultaneously produced from the kinetic misalignment mechanism and/or parametric resonance.
