Title: Asymptotic Symmetries and Holography Abstract: Infinite-dimensional Asymptotic Symmetries of gauge theory and gravity are discussed, starting in 4D Minkowski spacetime (where most of the literature is focused) and then moving to 4D AdS spacetime. In the latter case, I explore the connection between such symmetries and the 3D CFT “holographic” dual description of 4D AdS physics. The common denominator in both spacetimes is the appearance of 3D Chern-Simons gauge structure in the (suitably defined) soft limit of 4D amplitudes.
