Abstract: I will discuss some recent results on how higher-order interactions shape collective dynamics. For example, do higher-order interactions promote synchronization in general? What role does the hypergraph structure play? I will show that higher-order interactions can have dramatically different effects on dynamics in hypergraphs and simplicial complexes. The answers to these questions also depend on whether a local perspective (e.g., linear stability) or global perspective (e.g., basin stability) is taken.
