Want to be tutored?

The physics department has a new tutoring program for physics majors. In PHYS1304, from 4pm - 6pm, Monday through Friday, tutors will be available to help students with the introductor sequence (PHYS171, PHYS272, and PHYS273), the required math courses (MATH140, MATH 141, MATH241, PHYS 274, and PHYS373), modern physics (PHYS371), and quantum physics I (PHYS401). Come to get help with questions about homework or general questions about course material!

Want to tutor?

Looking to get community service hours for applications? (You need it for the NSF fellowship! And it always looks good on your CV and other applications!) Want to review the fundamentals of physics? (You need it for the GRE! Or just as a refresher, for those you who already survived the GRE!) Just want to give back to UMD's physics community? (You need it for the warm, fuzzy feeling it gives you!)

The physics department has a new volunteer tutoring program. Open to upper level physics majors with a physics-specific GPA of 3.0 or higher, we will be holding hours from 4pm - 6pm, Monday through Friday, in PHYS1304.

Additionally, we will be having a short group meeting on Thursdays at 7pm after SPS meetings to discuss the next week's homework sets/course materials for PHYS171, PHYS272, and PHYS273. That's right, you only have to work with physics majors!
