The Advanced Physics Summer Program runs 9 AM - 3:30 PM on July 28th-August 8th, 2025 (2-week Session)
The Advanced Physics Summer Program jumps into the exciting world of physics. This program, designed for high school students (rising 9th-12th graders), includes awesome physics experiences important to high school and college physics! Activities include fun physics demonstrations and experiments, soldering, coding, robotics, learning about cool research areas and tons of career options, and more. Students participate in hands-on activities, visit cutting-edge research labs, talk to professors and graduate students, meet current undergraduates, and practice new skills through relevant projects. From Einstein's thought experiments to current code-breaking applications, students are introduced to topics not typically offered in high school. If you’re interested in science, The Advanced Physics Summer Program is the program for you.

Program History
Since its inception, over 1,700 students have attended The Advanced Physics Summer Program. Past participants have gone on to become physicists, engineers, doctors, teachers, data analysts, and more. The program has drawn students from Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., New York, California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and all over the world.

When do applications open?

Is before and after care available?
No, the earliest your child can be dropped off is 15 minutes before the camp day starts. Your child must be picked up at the end of the camp day. There is no after care.
Can I pay with a credit card?
No, we accept checks or money orders.
I submitted my application, when will I hear if I am accepted?
Notifications regarding acceptance are sent two weeks after registration ends. Any application submitted after spots are filled will be added to our waitlist.
Is the personal essay important?
Yes, very. The personal essays written by student applicants are a significant part of the application.
Is this a Resident Program?
No, this program runs Monday through Friday both weeks.
Is there a showcase event where parents/guardians are included?
Yes, parents/guardians are invited to attend a program showcase on the last day of the program.
If I can no longer attend the camp, will I get a refund?
No, once a payment has been made and a spot has been taken, refunds are no longer possible.
I have a doctor’s appointment during the camp day, can I leave early?
Yes, please email us before the start of the camp day if you need to leave early for any reason.
Is there a carpool list?
Yes, individuals can provide information to join a carpool list once accepted.
