RQS Career Connections: Elmer Guardado Sanchez
Description
Title:Â Career Connections Seminar
Speaker:  Elmer Guardado Sanchez (Logiqal)
Date & Time:Â Â October 27, 2026, 12:30pm
Where to Attend:Â Â Virtual Via Zoom: https://princeton.zoom.us/j/97409229281
Elmer earned his PhD at Princeton in Waseem Bakr's group, where he built a fermionic quantum gas microscope to study the dynamics of condensed matter systems through quantum simulation. He then moved to Harvard as a postdoc in Misha Lukin's group, working on an atom-cavity experiment to develop new schemes for cavity-mediated entanglement generation. He joined Logiqal, a neutral atom quantum computing company founded by Jeff Thompson, Jahan Claes, and Sebastian Horvath, at its start. At Logiqal, Elmer works across hardware design and construction, quantum gate design, and AMO simulations, and has helped grow the company's lab and team from the ground up.
*We strongly encourage attendees to use their full name (and if possible, their UMD credentials) to join the zoom session.*
