Where is high-energy physics heading to? A viewpoint from CERN

The LHC physics program is advancing successfully and its results have reshaped our views about the particle world. Preparations for the high-luminosity phase of the LHC are in full swing. At the same time, CERN is considering future projects to continue research in the high-energy domain after the LHC. I will review the ongoing decision process and highlight the most promising directions that are currently pursued.
